About Us

The Indiana AHEC system is a community-based health care workforce development initiative that is committed to developing a diverse workforce and improving access to quality care for all Hoosiers. The South Central Indiana AHEC, one of seven strategically placed AHECs throughout the state, serves Brown, Clark, Crawford, Floyd, Harrison, Jackson, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Orange, Scott and Washington Counties.

South Central Indiana AHEC strives to improve the diversity, distribution and quality of health care in Indiana.  The program works to meet its mission by 1) providing health care awareness programs to middle and high school students in the region, 2) placing health professional students in rural and underserved sites in South Central Indiana and 3) providing quality continuing education credits for health professionals in rural and underserved areas.
